European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA)

EAEAEAEA has launched policy messages to highlight ways to support refugees through adult education. This new campaign draws attention to the linkages between adult education and refugee integration.

The policy messages underline the ways to support the integration of refugees through adult education. The messages focus on ensuring classroom diversity by bringing together refugees and local population, when possible, on ensuring non-formal and flexible learning opportunities for refugees, and on ensuring accessible and affordable learning opportunities as soon as possible after the refugee’s arrival.

  • Message 1: Ensure diversity in classrooms – bring locals and refugees together
  • Message 2: Ensure non-formal and flexible learning opportunities
  • Message 3: Ensure accessible and affordable learning opportunities as soon as possible
  • Message 4: Ensure recognition of diplomas and validation of prior learning for refugees
