Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS) is an organisation that is supported by the Scottish Government and the European Regional Development Fund. Overall, ZWS’s focuses on a society in Scotland that values its resources and reduces its waste nationally. To achieve this ZWS gathers evidence that assists to inform Scotland’s policies, motivating practical behaviour and change that include individuals and organisations through ZWS’s programmes and brands. Currently, ZWS’s work has contributed to an annual savings of 990,000 tonnes of carbon emissions enabled through direct interventions that affect change commonly in the form of finance, business support, technical advice, training and competence development or communications support.
