Scottish Natural Heritage

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) understand that nature and landscapes are vital for

Scotland and its people. They promote and care for the natural heritage enabling people to enjoy the outdoors and support those who manage it.

The SNH team extends beyond their immediate employees. As a public body their outlook is to serve all the people of Scotland. SNH is in partnerships and consultations including the Government and many other organisations.

As a public body SNH has certain duties that relate to equality and access to information, as well as helping to promote the use of Gaelic.

Scotland’s natural heritage is its wildlife, habitats, landscapes and natural beauty. Scotland is renowned for its attractive scenery and wild places and has a huge diversity of landscapes, habitats and wildlife. These are part of what makes Scotland special and are among our greatest assets.
